Martin-Style* 000 14 Fret Acoustic Guitar Templates
This template set, influenced by the Martin 000 14 Fret guitars is based on a Martin 000 Eric Clapton model we had in the workshop. It may vary from other Martin 000-14 models. It has the following dimensions:

- Lower Body Bout 387mm
- Upper Body Bout. 291mm
- Waist Width. 240mm
- Depth at Tail end. 105mm (includes top & back)
- Depth at Neck End 85mm (includes top & back)
- Nut Width 45mm
- Neck Width @ 12th Fret 58mm
- String Spread @ Saddle 57mm
- Body Side Length 755mm
The Build Set includes:
- Soundboard/Back Template (Note 1)
- Neck side profile & Heel Template
- Body Side Profile (Note 2)
- Fretboard (Note 3)
- Headstock (traditional Martin-style slotted)
- Bridge (modern "belly" bridge)
We offer the soundboard/back template separately here. You can find other components elsewhere on or site or get in touch with specific requests.
- The soundboard/back template provides for accurate outline and brace layout for the soundboard and back. It also includes the locations of the scallop peaks in the scalloped braces. Available for download is a pdf file with indicative soundboard and back brace profiles. The final shaping and dimensions of the braces are for the individual maker to determine so these profiles should not be considered definitive. They provide a good basis to start the shaping process.
- The body side profile template includes the thickness of teh top and back. The maker may wish to adjust the body depth to suit personal preference. Be aware that the body side profile template is supplied in 2 pieces to facilitate convenient shipping. The two pieces join at the waist and can be held together with tape or they can be glued with a suitable glue (e.g. CA glue).
- The fretboard/neck template provides plan dimensions of the fretboard and neck and includes pinholes to facilitate the accurate location of fret markers on both the front of the fretboard and also the side dots. They are not for locating fret slots - Guitar Templates recommends that you use our fret slotting templates with an appropriate jig for accurate fret slotting.
These markup templates are cut from clear 4.5mm acrylic, precision laser cut/etched lines, and keyholes for the accurate layout of your build. They are not recommended for use as routing templates which should be at least 6mm thick.
* Be aware that there are various interpretations of the Martin guitar styles and we do not assert that these templates are an exact match to Martin specs and layout. However, we conducted extensive research and developed these templates based on what we consider to be accurate interpretations of Martin style guitars. Certain aspects can be modified by the builder to suit personal tastes.
Note: The dimensions of templates on this site are often created for accuracy based on original models however this is not the case in some templates and therefore we do not guarantee these templates to work with original parts. We also chose to design elements to be compatible across multiple models which mean not all parts are the same dimensions as the original guitar the templates were based on.
